About Me

Karen is an author, speaker, teacher and leader.. She has been involved in education both nationally and internationally for over 40 years. As an advocate for citizen involvement in government, she has served the community both as a volunteer and an elected city official.

Karen currently serves as Program Director for The Sending Project in Kansas City and is a Regional Speaker Trainer for Stonecroft Ministries. She has been an executive pastor, a music education professor, is a licensed real estate agent and has authored three books which include SCARS Life Hurts….God Heals, What No One Ever Told Me (8 Things I Discovered About Women and Leadership) and Life Change Happens Here.

Karen and her husband, Dan, have been married 40 years and co-founded a ministry called Philemon International inspiring others through the ministries of speaking, writing, hospitality and short term mission trips. They have 3 wonderful kids, a daughter-in-law and a son-inlaw. She is also known as ‘Grandma K’ to Lincoln, Aly, Noah and Jackson. She loves spending time with her family, traveling and enjoying her summers at the lake.
