The Fourth Commandment

Today Pastor Chris challenged us to take seriously the 4th Commandment- remembering the Sabbath. Scientists have recently concluded that healthy patterns of activity and rest lie at the heart of our capacity for full engagement, maximum performance and sustained health. Brown Bag to the Rescue

Last night 7 LifeQuesters loaded a van full of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, donuts and bottles of water and headed to downtown KC on a mission! I met a group of 30 volunteers who traveled all the way from Switzerland (also was their first visit to the US) to join with the 300+ volunteers. Generation 99 students were assigned to the Experience Team which meant they were in charge of handing out free food outside, a spider jump, a photo booth, trampolines, and sidewalk chalk! The kids did awesome!  ...

Quit Being Religous

I love reading the works of Oswald Chambers – so much wisdom and he doesn’t mince words, but gets right to the point. In ‘Utmost For His Highest,’ Chambers writes about our relationship with Jesus and how it’s easy to get so absorbed in our service to Him, that we fail to actually face Him. Recognizing His ‘surprise visits’ (as Chambers calls them) is not brought about by service to Him, but by  ...
